The White Horse was renovated in late 2013 before opening in early 2014. Our main passion is to create great tasting food in a friendly and diverse atmosphere. Over the past 2 years we have continued to progress from improving our menu to offering a wider range of craft and draft beers. We aim to continue to improve so please pop along to sample all we have to offer.
I've had many a good night in The White Horse & would highly recommend for a casual evening with friends or a special occasion. I booked out the restaurant for my recent birthday (for over 30 guests), the service & food were excellent from start to finish, and the hosts Abbie & Andy were so accommodating, & the staff helped make it such a special evening. I created a playlist of songs which was played in the bar after the meal (disco lights included!), so everyone could have a good boogie! Don't hesitate - this is the place to be in Ruddington! I live locally and pop in to the White Horse quite often. They've managed to get a wonderful balance between being a great local (friendly staff, choice of well priced/well kept pints) AND a good place to sit down and eat. With a mix of "restuaranty" table service, old school bar with a real fire and a beer garden, its first on the list for when we have friends and family visiting - especially if anyone fancies a Sunday Roast! This is our 4th time visiting this great pub. This time was for my mums 75th birthday. The whole family were there which meant 10 people and all the food and service was fantastic! We did a similar party celebration just before Christmas and the service, food and drink was equally top notch! I certainly recommend this place. Hats off to the owners who have obviously put a lot of effort, thought and heart into creating a lovely, warm welcoming village pub. Visited January 2016

Have just had a lovely evening at the White Horse Inn. There were 48 people in our party and we all had a 3 course meal. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and really good value for money. The staff were all really pleasant, helpful and the service was good. All dietary requirements were catered for and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. I will definitely being visiting again! Thank you! Visited February 2016

Booked table for over 15 people and we all came away with a belly full of lovely Sunday dinner. Great portion sizes and not like your average pub meat, veg and gravy slop. I had the beef which was perfectly pink..to request..but others who has pork or chicken enjoyed theirs as equal. Finished with sticky toffee pudding...lovely. Will definately be going back there again.... Visited February 2016

Superb!!! We booked an early Mothers Day meal for 20 people. Even before the day the staff were fantastic in catering for our meal preferences. On the day the food was delicious and the service second to none! A wonderful restaurant, very family friendly and highly recommended! Visited February 2016

Fantastic service from the great team at the White Horse, although not eating at the restaurant on this occasion (however we often do and it is pretty special) we met up in the bar for a drink prior to a night out in Nottingham to celebrate our daughters 21st. Even though not staying in there for the night and of no profit to him the landlord agreed for us to to pop our own special bottle of champagne and happily pre chilled it for us. On arrival we found that the bar team had reserved and prepared a table for us and then even waited on us with the champers as we raised a toast to our daughter. As always we were made to feel really welcome as they helped us set the tone for the evenings celebrations in style. Can't rate this place highly enough. Visited March 2016

This was an amazing and surprising find! Happened by chance to find it whilst on a country drive, it looks like a plain slightly modern pub from the outside, inside the decor is modern and funky, but most importantly the food was amazing! I ordered the venison and spiced red cabbage which was superb, tender melt innthe mouth and beautifully presented. I was too engrossed to comment on my friends meal of gnochi, but she ate it all and reported it was divine. Unlike many restaurants, the high standards were maintained with the desserts, the sticky toffee pudding being one of the best I have tasted! Two spoons were not a good idea... Visited March 2016

Lovely restaurant in the middle of the village. Sunday lunch was lovely, meat particularly nice. Nice pizzas as well. Decent service, particularly considering we had a larger group, and what looked like a great beer/drinks selection. Friendly towards kids too. Visited March 2016

First I'll tell you about the Sandwich menu... Delicious, have tried a few on there now and never been disappointed, the steak or chicken and pepper are my favourites, obviously you have to have the amazing chunky chips on the side too. Then there is the main menu which has a great selection, the last time I had the steak which was delicious and friends had the pies and pizzas and throughly enjoyed them, the childrens menu has a good selection and the deserts are always enjoyed. The pizzas are out of this world and the toppings.. Who would of thought a chicken tikka pizza could be so yummy!! Always very friendly and a great atmosphere. Feels like you're getting more than just a good village pub. Service is great and staff are on the ball. I love the log fire, perfect place to take a friend or a book and have a large glass of wine (they have a good selection) and sit on the comfy sofas on a cold evening. The beer garden is huge and they put on some great evenings. We've been to the wine fest and the winter beer fest both of which where packed out and made for a great night out. Visited March 2016

With the Rushcliffe Country Park on the doorstep of this cracking pub, what could be better than going for a nice stroll and then relaxing by the wood burner while tucking into hearty, good quality, well presented food washed down by a choice of real ales or good wine? From the menu I definitely recommend what I had: the Steak, Guinness and Stilton Pie and the White Horse Pale Ale from the bar. We turned up without booking with a dog, and were made very welcome by the staff in the bar. The pub has been very nicely renovated and the old lounge is now a restaurant which is great if you don't have a dog in tow. The menu is served throughout. If it's a long walk treat yourself to dessert - I went for the brownie but it was a close call between that and the sticky toffee pudding. I'm looking back to going back very soon. Situated on the edge of Ruddington you will find the White Horse Pub and restaurant which has a choice of 3 eating areas 2 indoors and one in their very spacious well seated beer garden. However that's just the start of it wait until you see their menu which I can say has been tried and tested by all of our family and friends on many an occasion. It could be a sandwich, pasta, pizza, a main meal or Sunday lunch whichever you decide you will not be disappointed, the detail to each meal is very professional and always delicious. If you have children they have a child's menu or are happy to do a smaller meal from their adult meal which is great for when you have an older child. The children can also be entertained in the outside area which has several large toys for them to share giving adults time to relax. The pub has a great selection of Gins and always has a range of different beers to try as well as all the usual stuff. There are so many more things to add to this review but I will write more next time. Finally The White Horse really wouldn't be the success it is without such a great dedicated team including the kitchen staff, cleaners, bar staff, waiters, Abbie and Andy. Visited April 2016

Booked a table of ten, six adults, four children (2,3,7&9) As always children made to feel very welcome, colouring pencils and special menu and make your own pizZas even at Sunday lunch a real treat. Portions perfect sized for all ages of children even a 9year old who can eat more then some adult men. Range of food on offer always a treat, my favourites including the chorizo, egg and red pepper bruschetta and the scallops for starters. The trio of roast- beef, pork and chicken on the menu but the option to swap for lamb if available was my main course of choice and wow!!! Perfectly cooked, expertly presented and delicious. Unfortunately not enough room left after starter and main but having eaten here more than a few times in the last few months I have had the opportunity to taste the wide selection of desserts and always exceptionally well presented and great flavour combinations. A firm family favourite, great atmosphere, brilliant staff always willing to help out, nothing too small (great touches including bringing cake out, personalising table with our own decorations and generally making it a lunch to remember for all) Thanks again to Andy, Grace, Cleo and obviously the most important man, Greg and all the kitchen staff Visited April 2016

I have been a few times to eat & drink. The food is always good - really varied menu, with some good traditional food and some more worldly choices in the mix. The staff are really friendly. Children are well catered for with make your own pizzas which are a hit! Overall brilliant choice for a family meal or meal with friends! Visited April 2016

If your looking for a great home cooked meal (not a pre prepared meal in sight!) this is the place for you. The food is great with something for everyone including children. Even though families are very welcome it doesn't have the atmosphere of the usual family pubs/restaurant's, I would recommend this place to all age groups, couples, families and groups. Sunday lunch is one of the best for miles. The new spring menu is excellent and great it is constantly changing encouraging you to go back and try something new. If you just fancy a drink the bar area is very relaxing and there is a great offering of Larger , Beers, Wines and spirits, its especially nice in the warmer months with a great outdoor area. 10 of us had lunch here and all had a great meal, including one very fussy pescatarian! The portions are enormous, so make sure you are very hungry! All the dishes were hot, well cooked and delicious. This was our third visit and have never been disappointed. Thank you to Andy and his amazing staff .
